January 2026 monthly update

Backend-integrated platform, expanded discovery, and rapid MVP releases.

CaseCrest

GTM / Business / Sales / Marketing update:

  • Aus and NZ focus in terms of users
  • No content published apart from personal dev diary
  • Onboarding and planning of around 20-30 societies and an equivalent amount of competition in the pipeline

The GTM strategy right now is very much focused on manual outreach which has been very succesful. I'm sure after a certain amount of users and host onboard using the platform, I'll reach a critical mass/number which starts to drive inbound leads instead of pure outbound foucs.

That being said, the overall sentitment from the user interviews and validation is very strong, hosts find this an ideal tool to use and I haven't ran into any blockers. The technical update below dives into specifics of what has been done, however expect a huge pipeline of incoming features into Feb with a focus on overall polish as well.

Unfortunately, I'm not where I need to be with marketing, building out the branding and vision for CaseCrest is something I have not fully established (external facing) however February will see the launch of multi-channel content and hopefully bringing on people to help will accelerate this greatly.

Distribution is everything!

Dev update:

  • Core competition lifecycle created and stabilised end-to-end
  • Admin tooling matured for competition setup, registrations, submissions, and results
  • Data model and policies hardened with migrations and RLS refinements
  • Public discovery expanded and resources library scaled (polish heavily needed)
  • Host + org hub and contributor workflows introduced
  • Reliability and build hardening (TypeScript strictness, RPC normalisation, data access)
  • Email notifications infrastructure plus UX polish (loading states, feedback, onboarding progress)
  • Release cadence: shipped MVP 1 through 1.5.3 with incremental stability and capability gains each launch, aiming for MVP 2.0 by end of Feb

Goals for Feb:

  • Reach MVP 2.0 state
  • Every society and key host reached out to across Australia, New Zealand and Asia
  • Heavy user testing with end-to-end flow tested in real world conditions with burst traffic, large volume of submissions and stress tested by external users
  • Mobile optimisation
  • Full resource library released along with Host guide
  • Clearer idea of next 3 month user and host load
  • Marketing launched with 90 pieces of content released (total across all platforms)
